Envious of the Clouds: A Journey through Love, Loss, and the Human Psyche
In her debut poetry collection, Envious of the Clouds, poet Sarah Jones takes readers on a journey through the complex and often contradictory emotions of love, loss, and the human psyche.
The poems in this collection are raw and honest, exploring the pain of heartbreak, the agony of loss, and the complexities of human relationships. But they are also full of hope and resilience, as Jones finds ways to heal and grow from her experiences.

The collection is divided into four parts, each of which explores a different aspect of the human experience.
- Part One: Envious of the Clouds explores the pain of heartbreak and the longing for what is lost.
- Part Two: The Body Remembers explores the physical and emotional scars of loss.
- Part Three: The Heart Heals explores the process of healing and finding hope after loss.
- Part Four: The Soul Transcends explores the ways in which we can find meaning and purpose in life after loss.
Throughout the collection, Jones uses vivid imagery and lyrical language to create poems that are both beautiful and heartbreaking.
In the poem "Envious of the Clouds," she writes:
I am envious of the clouds, Their ability to float away, To leave behind the pain and sorrow, And to start anew each day. I am envious of the clouds, Their freedom to roam, To travel the world, And to see all that it has to offer. I am envious of the clouds, Their ability to change, To transform themselves into anything they want to be, And to be reborn each day.
In the poem "The Body Remembers," she writes:
The body remembers The pain of loss, The ache of heartbreak, The emptiness of loneliness. The body remembers The touch of love, The warmth of a hug, The comfort of a kiss. The body remembers The feel of joy, The taste of happiness, The sound of laughter. The body remembers It remembers everything.
In the poem "The Heart Heals," she writes:
The heart heals slowly, But it heals surely. One day at a time, One step at a time. The heart heals through love, Through laughter, Through tears, Through pain. The heart heals through forgiveness, Through acceptance, Through hope, Through resilience. The heart heals It heals in its own time.
In the poem "The Soul Transcends," she writes:
The soul transcends Death, Loss, Pain. The soul transcends The body, The mind, The ego. The soul transcends Time, Space, Matter. The soul transcends It transcends everything.
Envious of the Clouds is a powerful and moving collection of poems that explores the full range of human emotions. It is a must-read for anyone who has ever experienced love, loss, or the complexities of the human psyche.
